The Sailor Horizon!

(the sailor monument)

Livorno, the city of the Italian Naval Academy, where everybody has a sailor soul, since 2013 has a statue celebrating its seamen.

This monument simply represents a sailor in real shapes, looking at the horizon, made in 1926 by Cesare Tarrini. It was restored and now placed close to the Naval Academy, on the sea promenade. At its or his feet an anchor and a marble basement reproducing a compass. This man is looking fiercely looking the big blue, maybe he is deciding where to go...ok this is my personal idea on ot! But the fact that the statue is placed on a man's level just enables you to have the same point of view!

So if you look the following picture, you have an idea 😉
